About the owner
Originally from Massachusetts, DJ Cammarata, the founder of Shade Monkey Window Tinting moved to Florida with family in 1985 and began working in window tinting in 2001 after the birth of his son. What started as a skill quickly became a true passion, combining hands-on work with the instant satisfaction of transforming spaces through comfort, privacy, and design. DJ previously owned a window film company from 2013 to 2019.
And in 2023, alongside the love of his life Erica Marie, Shade Monkey Window Tinting was created in Babcock Ranch as a fresh start and a reflection of the energy, personality, and pride they bring into everything they do.

Shade Monkey Window Tinting is actively involved in the Babcock Ranch community through sponsorships, local events, and ongoing participation in neighborhood activities. Their support includes sponsoring the All Abilities Picnic for Ranch Mothers of Autistic and Special Needs Children alongside Kiwanis, as well as sponsoring the Kentucky Derby Gala in 2026.
They are also a regular presence at the Sunday Farmer’s Markets and enjoy being part of the fun, community-centered spirit of Babcock Ranch—including proudly holding the title of 2024 Sack Race Champions alongside their daughter, Jemma.
