Crystal’s journey started early. I became a mom at 17 and graduated high school at 18 with two children depending on me. Not long after, I moved out of my father’s home and never looked back. From that point on, it was all about building a life for my kids and proving to myself that I could do hard things. Nine years later, I was blessed with two more children, growing my family and giving me even more reason to keep pushing forward and building a stable, loving life for all of them. I worked multiple jobs to afford apartments, daycare, and everything my children needed. Along the way, I was blessed with wonderful career opportunities that helped shape my work ethic and professionalism. Every position I held taught me something valuable and helped prepare me for the future I didn’t yet know I was building.

During COVID, like many others, my routine came to a halt. I had gone from waking up at 4:30 a.m., getting the kids ready, and living a structured, productive life, to being home without direction. That loss of routine made me realize something important: I thrive when I’m working hard and taking care of others. That’s when I decided to start a cleaning business. Cleaning wasn’t just random for me. My mom, who I lost when I was only 15½, loved to clean. She took pride in her home, and I grew up the same way. Even as a kid, I cleaned friends’ houses just because I enjoyed it. It’s always been therapeutic for me — something I can fully focus on, something that brings peace and satisfaction. In the beginning, I worked my full-time job from 8:30 to 5, then cleaned property management homes from 5:30 p.m. until 2 or 3 in the morning, several nights a week. It was exhausting, but I saw the potential. I realized I could build something of my own. At the time, I was working a great position that taught me so much about professionalism, communication, and business — skills that would later help me run my own company. Then came the moment that changed everything. I visited Florida from Ohio during winter.

I left 50–60° weather and came home to inches of snow. That was it. I decided I was ready for a new chapter. I put my house up for sale and it sold almost immediately. Within a month, I had packed up my life and moved to Florida. Starting over wasn’t easy. I had to rebuild my client base from scratch while still working my other job. I split my days — half working in an office, half cleaning — until my schedule filled up with steady clients. Eventually, I faced one of the scariest decisions of my life: leaving the security of a paycheck to rely entirely on myself. But I did it. Now, 3½ years later, I have a fully established cleaning business built from the ground up. I’ve learned everything hands-on — better techniques, better systems, better service. I’m proud to say that nearly all of my business comes from referrals. I rarely advertise, because my clients trust me and share my name. I am incredibly grateful for every struggle, every lesson, every opportunity, and every client who has supported this journey.
